Product Review: PUMA Complete Trailfox III Shoe
Men’s Complete Puma Trailfox III running shoes are a great option for the competing runner and outdoor athletes of any flavor.
It’s intelligent engineering flex groves and low profile provide for a fast and light weight running shoe.
Primary features of Men’s Complete Puma Trailfox III: entire Ever Grip outsole and forefoot grooves for utmost grip. The upper is made of waterproof material while the inner shoe fabric is specially designed to whisk away moisture keeping your running experience dryer.
When we received our Puma Trailfox III for the fall outdoor trail season, it was mid-summer and FIFA World Cup South Africa was still in session, so this review has been a while coming but not out of season.
The Testing
- one break-in session in which we ran a 5 mile trail course. Training included forest and hill training
- one soccer pitch training session to test the interesting toe design which seems akin to many outdoor designed cleats.
- multiple street use for durability and comfort.
PUMA TrailFox Specs:
- Water repellent upper
- ldCell heel
- ArchTec
- EverGrip
The Fit
I usually wears US size 10.5 shoes but received size 11 Puma Trailfox III shoes because of the predetermined snug-fitting footwear with mid-shoe support blades.
Once on the feet, the Puma Trailfox III provided that much anticipated snug yet comfortable fit. The sole construction offered significantly more stability throughout the shoe than a majority of competitors already tested.
With Puma’s ldCell heel design, cushioning wasn’t sacrificed for increased stability and the shoe’s ArchTec feature wasn’t overly restrictive in providing that natural heel-to-toe transition talked about in Puma write-ups. Movement throughout the testing was never uncomfortable as with typical flat-soled indoor shoes and the support blades in the mid-shoe felt surprisingly good.
Puma shipped me the steel grey/black metal colour option, and looking past the all important functional concerns, the company has released numerous colour options including camo. Finding a pair that suits your fashion sense should not be an issue. (see images below)
The Puma trailfox III is widely available in both a men’s and women’s version.
The Verdict
I really enjoyed these trail shoes on the course and in training. I give a thumbs up in saying you could not find a better running experience. Normally I look to PUMA for their soccer shoes and to their competitors for training and running shoes. In this case, I suggest all runners look again as Puma has something extra to offer off the pitch.
