Touché Roma losing 5-1 to the islanders from Sardinia in your first meeting this season, you now turn tables with a 3-0 clean sheet result Saturday in Rome.

Opening Goal awarded from penalty spot

To open the scoring at the Stadio Olimpico fans would witness the referee point to the spot after Daniele De Rossi was pulled back by Michele Canini when attempting to get his head to ball on a Francesco Totti cross from the left.

Designated taker Totti immediately stepped up to convert the awarded penalty, smacking it into the roof of the net over Michael Agazzi. The shot was high and right down the middle as Agassi moved to his right.

Second half action would seal victory for the Giallorossi when Agazzi during the 70th minute bobbled the ball in his area, allowing Simone Perrotta time to pounce from 5 feet out with a smash and grab of his own.

Adding icing to the cake Frenchman, Jeremy Menez, late in extra-time added Roma’s third score.  Menez after rounding Agazzi first with a step-over to the right, would then move inside to his left and slot home into the open goal.

A fantastic goal by Menez. This game really came to life after Vucinic and Menez took the field, great move by Ranieri.
