Serie A 2011/2012: Top Ten Goals of the Season
This has been a fantastic season in Serie A where Juventus ended the season unbeaten winning their twenty eighth Scudetto. AC Milan and Udinese will be playing in the Champions League next season while Napoli, Lazio and Inter will be in the Europa. Novara, Cesena and Lecce were sadly relegated from Serie A to Serie B. There have been some magnificent goals in Serie A
Here are the top ten goals from the 2011/2012 Season.
10. Fabio Simplicio Roma vs. Novara
The Brazilian midfielder danced through the Novara defence fed the ball to Erik Lamela who had his effort saved and the rebound fell to Simplicio who delightfully chipped the keeper.
9. Antonio Nocerino Siena vs. AC Milan
The Italian midfielder picked the ball on the centre circle and ran through the Siena defence wriggling through challenge after challenge before slamming the ball into the back of the net
8. Gaston Ramirez Catania vs. Bologna
A wonderful goal that won the game for Bologna, it was a thirty yard rocket that flew past Juan Pablo Carrizo into the top corner.
7. Victor Ibarbo Catania vs. Cagliari
A brilliant individual goal, Ibarbo chased an aimless ball and won it before the defender, ghosted past two more Catania players included the keeper to slot home.
6. Kevin Prince-Boateng Lecce vs. AC Milan
His first goal was brilliant but his second effort was even better. He has scored three absolute belters this week in two games for Milan. Antonio Cassano fed the ball back to Prince-Boateng who hit it first time with his right foot into the top corner.
5. Rodrigo Palacio Genoa vs. Napoli
A long ball that was headed down by Alberto Gilardino to Rodrigo Palacio, who hit a lovely half volley into the top corner from outside of the area.
4. Stefano Mauri Lazio vs. Napoli
A magnificent over head kick from the Lazio captain which flew past the Napoli Morgan De Sanctis from close range.
3. David Di Michele Parma vs. Lecce
A truly breathtaking goal from the Lecce striker, a cross in from the right was headed into the box and David Di Michele overhead kicked effort flew into the top corner.
2. Maicon Inter vs. AC Milan
It was the fourth goal for Inter, the Brazilian right back went on a marauding run and let fly from the angle of the right hand side into the top corner.
1 Sebastian Giovinco Siena vs. Parma
A Golazo by the Atomic Ant, this was Parma first goal for in their away win at Siena. From around thirty yard out Giovinco flicked the ball up and hit it and it flew into the top corner.
