Match fixing rears its ugly head again, as 33 people and an entire club (AS Bari) were called before a sports trial after being charged with fixing four game. For me, this is personally saddening as a Bari fan that really began following the team during this time period and admired many of the names on this list.

An interesting story out of the English Championship that will have implications for Italian soccer: the Football League will meet to discuss a rule change limiting the number of players a team can take on loan. The reason for the discussion is Watford taking fourteen players on loan from Udinese and Spain’s Granada last season. Not coincidentally, all three clubs are owned by the same group. Maybe this kind of rule will trickle down to Serie A eventually.
